Spider Gwen

This is a fanart of Spider Gwen from Marvel Comics.  I tried a variant design for her in this piece.  Working with close-up details and lit rendering was fun.

I designed this character in 2009 and finished rendering it recently, her name is Leela Airstar.  I wanted to try a white and pink color scheme for a cyber theme.  I want to do more art of this character and similar characters in the future.

Koi Empress - Line Art

This is the line art for my original Koi Empress mermaid.  I wanted to design a mermaid based on the water garden idea and wanted to go into alot of detail.

Neon Neko - Line Art

I wanted to try something simple, new and creative with this character.  I may paint this line art in detail in the future and do more portraits like this.  Every year I get faster at painting which is exciting to see how many new pieces I can do and what I can come up with!

I was commissioned by Lindslee Johnson to illustrate this character named Kasai.  Kasai's design was alot of fun to work with!  I wanted to go into detail with the gathered cloth.

I did this sketch in pencil many years ago.  It makes me want to do many more pencil sketches, maybe I will this year!  Just outlines like this have a nice minimalist feel, maybe I could do many character sketches like this and fill a whole page!

Evangeline

I was really inspired to do a tonal rendering on beige paper with white pencil for the highlights.  I like how it gave the character a lot of depth like a painting.  This has become one of my favorite traditional methods.  I want to make more like this in the future!
